Subscriptions For The Future

What began as a simple financial concept that attempted to aid those without the full amount needed to pay for an item has transformed into an entire culture, and it seems this is where the future is going. Apparently subscription models have not only reshaped the need for larger amounts of cash but they have also created a socioeconomic culture in itself; people no longer want to purchase a car (in cities like New York) because it is really expensive to park, there is no parking anywhere, gas is expensive, Uber exists and “hey we can save the planet while we are at it”. As marketers we should ponder on the following thought: how many times can a subscription be sold to one person? Will we even be needed in the not-so-far future?
