Mobile devices…oh mobile devices…

The article “Consumers Are Showrooming and Webrooming Your Business, Here's What That Means and What You Can Do About It” by Humayun Khan talks about how the mobile devices and the internet have influenced the purchasing process of shoppers of today. Whether the purchases are in person or online, people look up reviews and compare prices before committing to anything, which for large retailers doesn’t really pose a problem but for smaller ones does. It also offered some common-sensical reminders like the fact people buy durable goods online and not fresh products like groceries as much, but the idea of showrooming really just means visiting a store to see a product but then buying it online, and webrooming means researching about the product online and then making a purchase in person. Clearly having a truly good stance online will invariably influence buying decision regardless of the purchase type.
